TIGER​

The TIGER study is a pan-European multi-hospital phase III, double-masked, randomised surgical trial investigating whether performing a Vitrectomy, injecting TPA and gas in addition to regular injections of anti-VEGF (in this case Eylea®) will improve vision over injections of anti-VEGF alone which is considered standard of care.​

STAR​

STAR is a Phase III, randomised, double-masked, sham-controlled clinical trial of SRT. STAR aims to recruit 411 UK participants with active wet AMD, randomised 2:1 to SRT plus as needed (PRN) ranibizumab (Lucentis^®) versus as needed ranibizumab monotherapy.​

Malarial Retinopathy ​

Retinal findings in patients with cerebral malaria carry prognostic information; in conjunction with researchers from the University of Liverpool, working on a project in malaria, LORC is providing ground truth annotations for OCT features.

Eye2Gene​

Eye2Gene is a research project based at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and University College London. Our aim is to engineer artificial intelligence that can understand eye scans. It will then predict which inherited retinal disease the patient has. Once tested, Eye2Gene can help make decisions about their care.​

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) Genetic susceptibility​

LORC is involved in delivering a retinal monitoring service for patients on hydroxychloroquine therapy. Suitable study patients with and without HCQ retinal toxicity have been identified and recruited into this study.

The primary aim of the FASBAT study is to follow those patients who develop nvAMD in their second eye, to look at the change in fibrosis and Sub retinal Highly Reflective Material (SHRM) in the initial nvAMD eye following commencement of anti-VEGF therapy and to compare this to the rate of change of fibrosis and SHRM in the fellow eye in patients who convert in this eye.
