Expertise & Services
LORC’s team of highly trained ophthalmologists and accredited graders and image analysts contributes to, and leads, a wide range of ophthalmic studies and projects. We work closely with academic and industry partners to define appropriate imaging endpoints that support each study’s objectives.
Our core services include:
- Ophthalmic image grading and analysis
- Ground-truth annotation to support the development of machine-learning algorithms
- Development and implementation of quality assurance processes
- Preparation of study and project reports
Study design and development
We work collaboratively with partners to develop study-specific imaging and grading resources tailored to their research requirements, including:
- Image acquisition protocols
- Image export guides
- Grading protocols and manuals
- Grading databases
- Grading forms
Imaging modalities
Our team is trained and experienced in grading images from a range of ophthalmic imaging modalities, including:
- Colour fundus photography
- Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
- Fundus fluorescein angiography
- Indocyanine green angiography
- Fundus autofluorescence (FAF)
- Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A)
Where required, our team completes study-specific training and accreditation to grade images acquired using different imaging systems and to assess additional investigative modalities, such as visual fields.
